Description

The author discusses growing up as a closeted gay kid during the beginning of the AIDS crisis, at which point he recalls there being no positive popular depictions of gay people as anything other than the stereotype of perverts and pedophiles. The author recalls almost engaging in sexual activities with an older man, but they got interrupted. Towards the end, the author discusses his first sexual experience. His partner tried to initiate penetrative sex despite the author's discomfort. The partner tries to reassure him by saying he has a condom, but the author is fearful of contracting HIV. The partner keeps trying to push past the author's discomfort but eventually backs down.
