The main characters are a married couple with a tense marriage where the man is controlling. Early in the film, the man tries to initiate sex, to which the woman says she is tired. He goes quiet, turns over and acts grumpy about it, and then she initiates sex with him to cheer him up (presumably due to feeling guilty). Greater context revealed later in the film also casts a light of dubious consent on the entire movie.
