After being exposed as an outlaw and highly skilled secret agent, the protagonist bails himself out of the situation by kidnapping an elderly man's daughter, threatening her life if they do not cooperate. The protagonist routinely uses her as a maid, bait, and a distraction during his quest to clear his name in ways that mirror an abusive relationship. The daughter develops stockholme syndrome and genuinely want to help him at the mid-point of the film.
