The film deals with the topic of family annihilators, the main family consists of Andy (Father), Sheila (Mother), Joe (Son) and Judith (Daughter). Throughout the film Andy is shown to be abusive to the members of the family. Judith non-consensually records another teenage female neighbour (Claire) using a camcorder with clear sexual undertones throughout the film. The film shows this as a part of Judith's arc of figuring out her sexuality. Judith is also shown to have made a "shrine" to Claire which includes her stolen clothing and printed out pictures of her sunbathing. Joe is shown to have a video of a women giving him oral sex, though it is unclear whether or not she is aware it is being recorded. It's revealed that Sheila felt pressured by Andy to keep her pregnancy with Judith. When she became pregnant with their 3rd child she chose to terminate the pregnancy, keeping it a secret from Andy. Towards the end of the film Andy murders Joe and Sheila via beating/strangulation, it is left ambiguous as to whether or not Judith survived the attempted murder.
