Needy Girl Overdose expands upon the universe of the game Needy Streamer Overload; much like the source material, the show explores themes of sexual trauma faced by women in Japan, especially as it pertains to social media and internet celebrities. S1E1: a woman works at a hostess club, and is sexually harassed by clients who try to pressure her into a relationship. Later, she returns home to her boyfriend, who violently coerces her into sex. The scene itself is not shown on-screen, but the woman's protests are still audible. Later in the episode, there is a brief shot of the couple after the man finishes, and the woman is visibly anguished.
