A man visits a woman's family and she is angry that they have allowed him to come - the implication is that he abused her as a child. A woman offers to have sex with a man but it's not consensual - he has brought her (by her choice) to a house in a rural area and she is locked inside. She and her children are reliant on him for all food, etc. They remain together until her death. A woman screams at her young child to put a shirt on, she presents it as though it is sexually enticing to her current boyfriend though we understand it is because she is jealous of their friendship. We see scenes early on of an alien laying behind a young boy in bed, we later understand it is the boy's mother's boyfriend and that the mother has allowed the boyfriend to abuse the son. During an ayahuasca trip, a man hallucinates kissing his mother sexually. It does not read as something that has actually happened in his past. In general the show depicts children as unprotected and with adults without boundaries throughout.
