Much of the show takes place in a clinic for pregnant people with no other support. The clinic masquerades as a charity but actually sells babies to wealthy clients. The pregnant people are treated as prisoners and are tortured throughout. Multiple characters are sexually harassed throughout the show. Nurses have inappropriate sexual relationships with the patients. S1E3: a character reveals that she was impregnated by her stepfather at the age of 12. Since coming to the clinic, the doctor performed intrauterine insemination on her 5 times, clearly without informed consent. Each pregnancy ended in miscarriage.
