This book has substantially less reference to and portrayals of rape in it than the previous two books and has no on page rape. Chapter 2: the man torturing one of the protagonists alludes to his desire to rape that protagonist in the past - but there is no explicit mention of that in this chapter. Chapter 16: this chapter reveals the protagonist's sexual abuse as a child from a family member. This reveal is not done in a way considerate or respectful of his trauma and his right to divulging information regarding his abuse given that it’s his abuser doing the revealing solely to upset and throw off the other protagonist.
