Description

S1E4: at the beginning of the episode, a very graphic and detailed sexual assault is shown on screen. It is also verbally referenced again further into the episode. The assault itself is off-screen but heavily implied and shows the aftermath / the person who was assaulted. Starting from S1E4, when the Aileen Wuornos story is introduced as a side-storyline, rape is continuously brought up and discussed. A 13yr old girl is raped off screen. It is mentioned that it happened three times and that the rapist impregnated her. It is shown how she leaves the room and collapses afterwards. Incest is mentioned. S1E5: a man arranges to have consensual sex with a sex worker. However the next scene, they are having sex, she says “stop, please” and he does not stop. They discuss this the next morning and she says “I’ve had much worse.” A woman discusses having been sexually abused and raped by her members of her family (about 30 minutes in).
