The partner of one character who is violently raped believes her and reports it to the police and the main characters stand up for her, even if it is taboo in the context of the series. The survivor is scarred and physically bruised and the rapist told her that people will not believe her. S2E3: a woman talks about how she "used her body" to survive a concentration camp (12:20). A very brief flashback is shown of a nazi undressing and thrusting on top of her. She says that "the women who resisted were shot and how the rest of the women were taken to a special barracks everyday for a year". She is telling her aunt who supports her and tells her that there is no shame in what happened to her, but also advises her to keep it secret.
